Easton Ems was recently invited to JBHS to spend time with their special needs students.
Here is a note EMS received after our visit...
I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for taking the time to visit Joel Barlow today and spend time with our students. From a parent’s perspective, the experience was incredibly meaningful.
Many in our special needs community experience anxiety around medical settings, ambulances, and emergency responders simply because the environment can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming. Being able to meet your team, see the ambulance up close, ask questions, and interact in a calm and supportive setting helped take away so much of that fear. Today helped replace uncertainty with familiarity and confidence.
The students were so engaged, and it was wonderful to watch their curiosity and comfort grow throughout the visit. I am deeply grateful for the time and care you and your volunteers put into making it such a positive experience.
As a special needs mom, I often worry about what my son's future will look like as he gets older and how he might handle situations like a medical emergency. Today gave me a sense of peace. I now feel more confident that, God forbid there is ever an emergency, he will be calmer and able to trust our first responders.
